Margaret Sims

Margaret Sims is professor of Early Childhood at the University of New England. She has worked in New Zealand in a variety of community-based agencies and developed one of the earliest inclusion programs for children with additional needs. She was involved with the planning and implementation of a pilot family support program. She has research interests in child care and family support, the development of integrated early childhood services and the workforce development in such services; and the biochemistry of parenting/caring. She has undertaken research using cortisol, a biomarker of stress, to look at quality in child care programs. Margaret is a consultant to the “Life at ??” TV documentary series arising from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children.
